• Keep on cryptohacking in the virtual world

    We’re pleased to announce that we’re locking in a regular monthly timeslot for our virtual hack nights. We’re going to be cryptohacking on the last Wednesday night of each month. The first one will be on Wednesday 27th April, starting at 7:30pm Melbourne/Sydney time. Hopefully you’ve seen our virtual hack nights some time in the last few months. We’ve invited Cryptohackers, and folks who are new to our community to come together in the same virtual place and get stuff done.

    The next in our series of virtual hacknights will be on 2nd March at 7:00pm Melbourne/Sydney time (UTC+11) – we’ll meet on Slack with Cryptohackers from around the world. Work on whatever free and open source privacy project you think needs our help (development, design, testing or writing), or join us in focusing on Pixelated – the core Cryptohack and Pixelated teams will be available to help you get the project context and navigate the codebase, and we’ll have some documentation plus video and audio to help get everyone up and running.
  • 10th February Hacknight -- Welcome

    First things first, please sign in and say hello to the group on #10th-feb-hacknight. You’ll need to join first. This is a worldwide virtual hack night, starting 10th February at 6:30pm AEDT (UTC+11). Come and work on whatever privacy tool you think needs our help, or join us in focusing on Pixelated.     Following our hugely successful kick off, it’s now time to kick off our contributions to open source projects that enhance privacy for 2016.   • Planning 2016 -- Melbourne Kick Off report

    Welcome to 2016! This is going to be a big year for the effort to reclaim our privacy judging by the passion displayed by the Cryptohackers who met on Monday evening last week. 50 Cryptohackers met in Melbourne, talked about why privacy is important and imagined what impact we could have on the privacy movement in the next year and over the next five years. We’ve collated the plethora of ideas, and four themes have emerged:
